Painting

Watercolour is an absolute joy. I will never get bored of watching what unfurls on the wet paper. It has an atmospheric, subtle and mysterious quality. I love the luminosity that can be achieved, the sense of fluid movement, and the contrast of rich colour and transparency.  I love the uncertainty of the finished result - what effects the drying paint will make as it swirls on the page. I paint in a loose, expressive style, and I enjoy leaving the white of the paper as an integral part of the painting.
